Dozens of illegal immigrants arrived at the Tsoutsoura beach on Wednesday afternoon.

According to initial reports, about 60 people arrived by boat and disembarked on their own. Local authorities, including the coast guard and police, were promptly mobilized following a notification from area residents.

They are working to manage the situation and to expedite the registration and transfer procedures of the illegal foreigners to suitable facilities.

This incident follows a series of similar events that have occurred recently in Crete, where authorities remain on alert.

Favorable weather conditions in the marine area facilitate movement, causing an increase in arrivals on the southern coast of the island.
