The swearing-in ceremony at KEN-KEVP

According to Law & Order, the swearing-in of the first female volunteers took place on Friday morning (June 26) at the “Squadron Commander (IN) Tsakalou Konstantinos” Camp at the KEN-KEVP in Lamia. The event was held in the presence of Thanasis Davakis and Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Georgios Kostidis.

Integrated into the 2026 B’ Training Series

The first female volunteers are integrated into the 2026 B’ Training Series of Conscript Soldiers (ESSO). This move is the result of recent changes in the Armed Forces, through which the political leadership is paving the way for the voluntary enlistment of female soldiers in the army.

Development with employment prospects

Observers note that this first class of female volunteers will demonstrate the potential of this particular policy initiative. However, the aim of the initiative is also to help the interested women secure employment positions in the public and private sector, offering alternative paths for professional establishment.
