Colorado Lesbian Teacher Fired for Pressuring Students to Kiss in Class

Jennifer Honka, 50, who taught French Language and Culture at Northeast Early College, faces allegations that she systematically pressured students to kiss one another during class exercises. The independent review uncovered that students forced to participate in these skits were always the same sex, according to Breitbart News.

Court documents obtained during the case reveal that Honka shared extensive personal information with students, including details about her sexual orientation as a lesbian, her use of a sperm donor, and discussions of suicidal ideation. After being initially fired, Honka appealed the termination, which triggered a comprehensive review that ultimately confirmed the school board’s decision.

Witness testimony from students painted a disturbing picture of classroom dynamics. One student reported the incidents to a chemistry teacher in April 2024, explaining her profound discomfort with being directed to kiss another student. Documents indicate that students had created and circulated a digital meme featuring Honka’s photograph with the caption “she makes girls kiss,” suggesting widespread awareness of the inappropriate behavior among the student body.

The independent review documented that Honka consistently selected only female students to perform in the skits, despite the class maintaining an approximately equal gender balance. One student witness testified she could not recall Honka ever choosing a male actor for these assignments.

Students who refused to participate faced academic consequences. One female student received a zero grade after declining to take part in the kissing skits, while another walked out of the class entirely. An English teacher at the school corroborated the accounts, stating that students approached her about the uncomfortable situation, with one reporting she had been asked to kiss three other girls during a single skit.

According to the investigation, Honka enforced participation through a classroom rule declaring that “the answer is always ‘yes,'” effectively removing students’ ability to opt out. She used these skits as graded assignments, creating pressure on students to comply or risk academic penalties.

In her defense, Honka claimed she offered alternatives such as fist bumps or pretend kisses. She has characterized herself as a victim of discrimination based on her sexual orientation, arguing to investigators that her termination was motivated by bias rather than misconduct.

Honka had been teaching for more than twenty years at the time of her dismissal.
