U.S. Navy destroyers have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz and have already been deployed in the Persian Gulf. This development has been confirmed by an official statement from the Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to the U.S. side, the operation is part of “Project Freedom.” The goal is to support free navigation, with the initial step being the safe passage of two commercial vessels flying the American flag. U.S. forces state that they are actively assisting to restore smooth maritime traffic in the area.

Earlier the same day, Iranian media outlets, such as the Fars news agency, reported that two missiles struck a U.S. warship in the Strait of Hormuz. They claimed that the ship ignored warnings and that Iran reacted decisively. Iranian state television spoke of obstructing “American-Zionist” ships.

The U.S. categorically denied these reports. “No U.S. Navy ship has been hit,” CENTCOM stated clearly, emphasizing that their forces continue to support Project Freedom and enforce a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

Iran had previously warned that any passage through the Strait of Hormuz requires coordination with its authorities. Following statements by President Donald Trump about escorting commercial ships that had been trapped in the area for two months, Tehran reiterated that it would respond to any move it considers threatening.

The developments in the region are being closely monitored, as the Strait of Hormuz is a critical route for the international energy market. So far, the U.S. side insists that operations are proceeding without tensions that have caused damage to any ships.
