In Kypseli, a 45-year-old man of Sudanese origin caused tension on Tuesday evening when he tried to approach an eight-year-old girl who was waiting for a bus with her mother. The incident took place at the junction of Drosopoulou and Kallifrona streets.

The child’s mother and local residents immediately reacted and prevented him from getting any closer, forcing the man to leave the area.

Soon after, the same man attacked a 72-year-old passerby without any provocation and struck him on the head.

Police officers from the Immediate Action Division arrested him shortly afterward. According to reports, the perpetrator is known to the authorities, as he regularly appears at the local police station on issues related to drugs.

The incident was recorded on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and is under investigation by the competent authorities. Do Messrs. Voridis, Plevris, and Georgiadis have anything to say about the “sense of security” of the Greek citizen?
