Germany: Afghan Arrested for Raping 11-Year-Old at Her School
A 20-year-old Afghan man was detained in Germany over the alleged sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in a school restroom, while authorities also investigate a possible accomplice.
According to information, the 19-year-old allegedly held the girl while the 20-year-old carried out the assault. It took the child two days to speak to her older sister. Subsequently, the family informed the police. In fact, the parents found the 20-year-old at a house and called the authorities, who arrested him on May 4.
The Koblenz public prosecutor’s office confirmed the detainee’s nationality and revealed that he is already under investigation for another sexual offense. Previously, he had been fined for possessing a blank-firing gun without a license. Authorities decided to make the case public following the circulation of false photos and rumors on social media.
The school remains in contact with the authorities and has established a crisis management team to keep students and parents informed. It is not yet known how the two young men gained access to the school premises that day. The investigation is ongoing.
