Farage Slams ‘Disgusting’ Masked Protesters Blocking Dover Port

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage condemned masked protesters who blocked Dover port, calling their balaclava-wearing tactics "disgusting" despite sharing their opposition to illegal Channel crossings.

According to Jack Walters writing in GB News, Farage used the term “disgusting” three times during his television interview while discussing the black-clad activists who disrupted access to the critical transport hub.

The political figure made clear his position that face coverings have no place in legitimate political demonstration, regardless of ideological affiliation. Nobody in any political protest, whether they’re on the left or the right, should appear in balaclavas, he stated, calling the practice fundamentally wrong.

Major Disruption at Critical Port

Hundreds of protesters dressed entirely in black with face coverings blocked roadways as part of a demonstration calling to “stop the boats.” The action caused significant disruption to traffic entering and leaving the port facility, which serves as a vital link for international trade and passenger travel.

Kent Police confirmed officers were engaging with the demonstrators and successfully moved the crowd to a nearby railway station before midday. The masked group began dispersing shortly after arriving at Dover Priory railway station.

Farage Distances Reform UK From Tactics

Farage distanced himself from the protesters’ methods despite his own vocal opposition to illegal Channel crossings. He acknowledged that no political figure has been more outspoken about halting small boat arrivals or warning about potential security risks, including his concerns about Iranian regime operatives potentially using such routes.

However, the Reform UK leader drew a firm line at masked activism, insisting such tactics undermine legitimate political expression and democratic protest.

Port Operations Resume

Port officials confirmed that approach roads returned to normal flow following the dispersal of demonstrators. The Port of Dover reported that the situation had been resolved and traffic was moving freely through the facility once again.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions surrounding Britain’s border security and the contentious debate over small boat arrivals, which continue to dominate political discourse across the country.
