Tax Flight Myth Claims and Hollywood’s Antisemitism Defense Under Fire

New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani dismissed wealthy residents' tax-driven exodus as myth despite ongoing migration to lower-tax states like Florida and Texas.

According to New York Post, Mayor Zohran Mamdani claimed this week that warnings about capital flight are nothing more than fiction. Whenever I talk about raising taxes on the wealthiest, people will respond with what is generally a myth of capital flight, Mamdani stated Monday.

The reality tells a different story. High-earning New Yorkers continue relocating to states with lower or no income taxes, including Florida and Texas, in significant numbers. The exodus represents a clear pattern of taxpayers rejecting punitive taxation policies—a fact that appears lost on Mamdani and his progressive allies.

Hollywood Merger Becomes Antisemitic Talking Point

In another display of twisted logic, Jewish celebrities rushed to defend actor Mark Ruffalo this week after he connected a Hollywood studio merger to events in Gaza. The open letter claimed that drawing connections between Gaza and Hollywood represented the opposite of antisemitism.

As New York Post reports, the defense falls flat. Injecting an unrelated business transaction into the Israel-Hamas conflict follows a familiar antisemitic pattern of blaming Jewish interests for unconnected grievances. Critics of Israel increasingly weaponize “Zionism” as shorthand for anything they oppose.

Rewriting Holocaust History

Perhaps most disturbing, journalist Emma Vigeland claimed Wednesday that Palestinians bore the brunt of the Holocaust—a statement that erases the six million European Jews systematically murdered by the Nazi regime.

The comment reflects what can only be described as Palestine Derangement Syndrome, where historical facts become malleable in service of a political narrative. European Jewry suffered the Holocaust’s devastation, not Palestinians.

False Claims About Supreme Court

Representative Jim Clyburn, a South Carolina Democrat, accused the Supreme Court Sunday of attempting to return America to an era when black Americans had no rights that white citizens were bound to respect.

The accusation lacks any factual foundation. Recent Supreme Court decisions have reinforced colorblind principles and equality before the law, rather than stripping away civil rights protections. Clyburn offered no specific cases to support his inflammatory comparison to pre-Civil War jurisprudence.

The pattern across these statements reveals a progressive movement increasingly disconnected from economic reality, historical truth, and constitutional fact.
