“The existence and survival of a sovereign Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean is a development that also serves Turkey’s security concerns.”, Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar said.
In his remarks to businessmen in Denizli, the leader of the Pseudo-state said a new era began in Cyprus with the landing of Turkish soldiers in 1974 and claimed that “the ‘TRNC‘ as a permanent, independent Turkish state is a great achievement for Turkey.”
Ersin Tatar said they reject policies aimed at blockading Turkey from the Eastern Mediterranean and luring it into annihilation, with the aim of withdrawing Turkish soldiers from the island.
“The existence and survival of a sovereign Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean is a development that also serves Turkey’s security concerns. Of course, and for the stability and future of the ‘Turkish Cypriot people’ themselves. Therefore, I always attach great importance to relations with Turkey,” he said.
Let us improve, he continued, “our relations with the Turkish people, our cultural, economic and social relations. It is our greatest desire that our young generations get to know each other better and build a future in a way that protects national values, spirituality and culture. This is the purpose in this age of communication, let us strengthen our ties through frequent contacts, conversations and meetings in such a way that no one can break them,” he said.
