Turkish bravado against the State of Israel is already well-known, with the Turkish government funding, providing refuge, and training terrorist organizations, while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued threats about besieging and conquering Jerusalem.

The concern behind the Turkish threats

However, behind the bombastic Turkish provocations and statements about a fully prepared Turkish military, lies a tormenting concern. Turkey fears the creation of a Kurdish state with support from Israel and the United States, a development that would threaten the cohesion and national identity of the country. The Turkish threats conceal anxiety about the future of a country facing internal social and political challenges.

The Greek-Cypriot response and the energy dispute

The cooperation between Cyprus, Israel, and Greece strengthens the response against Turkish policy, particularly on issues of energy resources and territorial control. The Turks claim that Israel is attempting to seize natural gas deposits in both Gaza and Lebanon, implementing the “Greater Mediterranean” plan. They also assert that the Israelis are claiming the region between the Nile and Euphrates, including Cyprus and the entire Eastern Mediterranean.

Greece’s role and the importance of diplomacy

Greece must remain fully informed about Turkish intentions and have a stable and experienced government to address the challenges posed. As Newsbomb reports, it is critical that Greece knows both itself and its adversary, according to the following principle:

If you know yourself but not your opponent, for every victory you achieve, you will also experience a defeat, while if you know neither your opponent nor have a clear picture of yourself, you will lose every battle.

Israeli strategy toward Turkey

The Israelis are taking a clear stance against Turkey’s unlawful plans, cooperating with Greece in the Aegean Sea and signing defense agreements. Israel has established itself in the free part of the Greek-Cypriot side, with Israeli businesspeople having settled in free Cyprus as well, a fact that significantly annoys the Turks. The Turkish political leadership claims that Israel is colonizing the Greek-Cypriot side, although Israelis have also purchased land in the occupied territories.

The Turkish president’s message

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that “Turkey’s security begins from Beirut and Damascus,” attempting to send a message against Turkey’s adversaries. With this statement, he seeks to support the claim that Turkey’s defense has entered a most critical period since the founding of the Turkish state, threatening those who supposedly conspire against his country.

Source: Newsbomb

nfg-origin:gr

Turkey threatens Israel while fearing a U.S.-backed Kurdish state, as Cyprus, Israel, and Greece strengthen cooperation against Turkish claims over Eastern Mediterranean energy resources.

[122
1120,8279,279,8278,926,95,209
134
post-9075","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-eastern-mediterranean","tag-geopolitical-tensions","tag-israel","tag-kurdish-state","tag-recep-tayyip-erdogan","tag-turkey","tag-united-states","nfg_topic-europe
["GET
