Arias spoke with his brother the morning of September 11, 2001, after the first plane had already hit the North Tower. Adam described the horrific scenes as desperate victims leaped from the burning skyscraper.

Combat Surgeon With Troubling Past Wins New Jersey Primary

Dr. Adam Hamawy, a veteran combat plastic surgeon who now runs a private practice in New Jersey, secured the Democratic nomination for Congress in the state’s blue-leaning 12th Congressional District on June 2. He will replace outgoing Representative Bonnie Watson-Coleman.

The victory came despite Hamawy’s documented connections to Omar Abdel-Rahman, the notorious terrorist known as the “Blind Sheikh” who masterminded the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Abdel-Rahman died in federal prison in 2017.

As New York Post reports, Hamawy met the sheikh in 1991 as a young adult and subsequently began accompanying him to mosques. That same year, Hamawy joined Abdel-Rahman and others on a 13-hour car journey from the terrorist’s New Jersey home to a Detroit conference entitled “Towards a Global Islamic Economy.”

Most troubling, Hamawy testified on behalf of the defense during the sheikh’s trial.

Arias acknowledged that Hamawy possesses some positive credentials as both a doctor and veteran, but said he cannot trust the candidate given his associations.

The Air Force veteran invoked a familiar principle when evaluating Hamawy’s character, noting that a person’s choice of companions reveals their true nature. He emphasized that voters should not allow Hamawy to erase this history simply because he later served as a veteran and performed good works.

Ties to Designated Terrorist Financier

In 1994, Hamawy participated in what he characterized as a humanitarian mission to Bosnia, where he worked with the Benevolence International Foundation. The organization was later designated by the United States government as a financier of terrorism due to its connections with al Qaeda during the post-9/11 crackdown on terror networks.

Arias argued that voters are not conducting adequate research into their candidates and that proper awareness of these connections would prevent such individuals from winning elections.

Socialist Candidate Suggested America Deserved 9/11

Aber Kawas, a socialist candidate and Muslim daughter of illegal aliens, is positioned to win a seat in the New York State Senate after securing the Democratic nomination for District 12. She received backing from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and won as part of a far-left wave that swept several federal and state Democratic primaries in the city last Tuesday.

In a 2017 episode of the Asian American Writers’ Association podcast titled “Islamophobia beyond 9/11 with Aber Kawas,” she made inflammatory remarks about the September 11 attacks.

Kawas framed the terrorist attack within a broader critique of American society, suggesting it represented a manifestation of what she called capitalism, racism, White supremacy and Islamophobia used to colonize lands and extract resources.

She also stated that she found it reprehensible that Muslims should apologize for a terror attack committed by a handful of individuals while no apologies or reparations have been made for what she termed genocides and slavery.

Veteran Warns of Growing Pattern

Arias condemned Kawas’s comments as minimizing the horror of September 11. He expressed grave concern about the type of individuals now winning Democratic nominations, stating that beneath the surface he sees not Americans but radicals with extremist ideologies.

The pattern of candidates with questionable backgrounds on terrorism and radical Islam winning Democratic Party elections represents what Arias views as a dangerous trend that threatens to dishonor the memory of the nearly 3,000 Americans who died on September 11, 2001.

With information from New York Post

An Air Force veteran whose brother died on 9/11 warns about Democratic candidates with alleged radical Islamic ties winning Northeast nominations, including a New Jersey doctor linked to the Blind Sheikh.

[122
8255,4941,790,8254,657,8256,209
135
post-9043","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-adam-arias","tag-adam-hamawy","tag-democratic-party","tag-don-arias","tag-new-jersey","tag-september-11-attacks","tag-united-states","nfg_topic-world
["GET
