The findings showed that 17 per cent of respondents strongly agree that the growth in the Muslim population poses a foundational threat to UK culture.<\/p>\n<p>The same study found that 52 per cent of those surveyed believe Muslims can be just as British as white non-Muslims, according to the left-wing Guardian newspaper. In contrast, only 19 per cent disagreed with the statement that Muslims born in Britain are as British as white, non-Muslim people born there.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1777303556082499809\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The findings emerge amid continuing debate over what constitutes British identity. Some argue it is simply a civic category available to anyone who obtains British citizenship, while others contend it represents an exclusive ethnic group for those native to the British Isles. A third view holds that British can function as a civic national identity whilst the UK constituent nations maintain separate ethnic groupings.<\/p>\n<p>The question of who qualifies as a Briton has gained urgency given the dramatic demographic shifts imposed on the country by both Conservative and Labour establishment parties in Westminster over recent decades. Current immigration trends suggest that native white Britons are projected to become a minority in their own homeland by 2063 if present rates continue.<\/p>\n<p>Critics of mass migration have expressed particular alarm over the expanding Islamic population, pointing to evidence that many Muslims hold views sharply at odds with mainstream British opinion. Multiple surveys have demonstrated that Muslims living in the UK are considerably more likely to support terror groups such as Hamas and to justify terrorism, including the October 7th attacks on Israel in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Despite these concerns, the research from British Future and the British Muslim Trust\u2014which the government has designated as its official partner in monitoring so-called Islamophobia\u2014found that 57 per cent of respondents agreed that Muslims and non-Muslims can live well together in towns and cities across the UK.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1968653735657357604\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Muslims themselves expressed generally favourable views about Britain, with 73 per cent describing Britain as a good place to be a Muslim. However, 56 per cent claimed they had experienced prejudice related to their faith within the past year.<\/p>\n<p>More than six in ten people surveyed believe prejudice against Muslims exists in Britain and that government action should be taken to prevent anti-Islam bias.
