She described deportation as ripping convicted criminals away from everything they know and love, characterizing it as discriminatory treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The candidate has secured an endorsement from New York City Mayor <strong>Zohran Mamdani<\/strong> (D), a socialist politician who has publicly praised Chevalier as a champion for illegal aliens. In a campaign advertisement featuring Mamdani, the mayor commends Chevalier for having united families separated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Chevalier&#8217;s campaign platform includes a promise to abolish ICE, the federal law enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security responsible for enforcing immigration law across the country.
