She pointed to a concrete record of opposition, stating that voting five times against confidence motions for the first right-wing led government in Italian history does not suggest a desire to be helpful.<\/p>\n

Meloni then turned more pointed in her criticism. While she acknowledged a certain functionality that Vannacci’s stance provides to the left, which she described as fairly normal, she stated she finds it far less normal when someone who claims to be right-wing chooses to be functionally useful to the opposition.<\/p>\n

Focus on Governance Over Political Calculations<\/h2>\n

The Prime Minister characterized Vannacci’s political choices as having effectively distanced his Futuro Nazionale movement from the governing majority. She emphasized that her focus remains on effective governance rather than political maneuvering.<\/p>\n

Meloni outlined her governing philosophy clearly. She believes the best way to win the next elections is to govern well, dismissing other considerations as mere alchemy. She stressed she does not occupy herself with such calculations, preferring instead to focus on doing her job to the best of her ability.<\/p>\n

Meloni questioned why the issue of women’s freedom functions as important in some cases but not others for Vannacci. She reaffirmed her position and expressed satisfaction that this crime now exists in Italian law, while acknowledging that everyone is free to think as they wish.<\/p>\n
