Priority areas include artificial intelligence and semiconductor development.<\/p>\n<p>A formal production agreement will connect the British Semiconductor Centre with Rapidus, Japan&#8217;s newly established chipmaker, <em>Breitbart News<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n<h2>Defense Cooperation Reaffirmed<\/h2>\n<p>On security matters, Starmer and Takaichi recommitted both nations to the Global Combat Air Programme, which Starmer identified as central to the bilateral relationship.<\/p>\n<p>The GCAP represents an international defense initiative launched in 2022 by Britain, Italy and Japan to produce a supersonic next-generation fighter aircraft by 2035.
