The remains were discovered Friday on a property in Lutory\u017c, a village near the city of Rzeszow, according to New York Post<\/em>. The five-acre plot previously belonged to 57-year-old pathologist Magdalena H.<\/strong>, who authorities say removed the fetuses from a hospital for illicit research purposes.<\/p>\n

The current property owners, a young couple who recently purchased the land from Magdalena H., had begun renovation work with no knowledge of what lay buried beneath their new home. Their construction project quickly transformed the quiet village into a sprawling crime scene.<\/p>\n

Forensic teams in protective suits erected tents across the property and conducted extensive searches for additional evidence. Investigators recovered not only human remains but also substantial quantities of medical waste now central to the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

Krzysztof Ciechanowski<\/strong>, a prosecutor handling the case, confirmed the nature of the findings. The items were discovered during earthworks and included a human fetus along with other remains that could constitute early-stage fetuses or their fragments, he told New York Post<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Pandemic-Era Experiments Alleged<\/h2>\n

Magdalena H. was detained Friday in Zamo\u015b\u0107, a city in eastern Poland. During questioning, she reportedly admitted to removing the fetuses from a hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming she used them for medical research conducted at her residence.<\/p>\n

Authorities believe the pathologist subsequently placed the remains in sacks and buried them on the property, allegedly to avoid disposal costs. The medical waste recovered from the site included tubes, containers, and microscope slides.<\/p>\n

Neighbors Describe Reclusive Figure<\/h2>\n

Local residents described Magdalena H. as a mysterious and withdrawn figure in the community. Villagers told media outlets they knew little about her activities or profession.<\/p>\n

One neighbor admitted barely knowing what the woman did for a living, while another characterized her behavior as unusual.<\/p>\n

The pathologist now faces serious criminal charges including desecration of human remains and illegal disposal of hazardous medical waste. If convicted on all counts, she could receive a prison sentence of up to 12 years.<\/p>\n
