The production marks an escalation in the political battle over the concept of remigration in Austrian politics.

The party led by Herbert Kickl issued a statement condemning what it describes as the hesitation and wavering of the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP) on the remigration question as no longer acceptable. The FPÖ contends that with the ÖVP responsible for security matters, no effective solution will be found. Only the Freedom Party, they assert, guarantees a consistent asylum policy in Austria that includes remigration.

Political Battle Over Terminology Intensifies

The term remigration has become fiercely contested in Austrian political discourse over recent months. Representatives from the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) and the Greens have accused the Freedom Party of attempting to normalize what they characterize as far-right terminology.

Justice Minister Anna Sporrer of the SPÖ stated during a National Council debate on the 2024 extremism report that normalizing the term would constitute a dangerous shift in political discourse that must be resolutely opposed.

Parliamentary Procedures Target Conservative Language

The presidium of the National Council has recently taken up the matter of whether the term should be permitted in parliamentary debate. Doris Bures of the SPÖ, the Third President of the National Council, has indicated her intention to continue issuing parliamentary reprimands for its use.

National Council President Walter Rosenkranz of the FPÖ, however, maintains that the term is not inherently prohibited, arguing that context determines appropriateness.

Song Promotes Policy as Liberation

The FPÖ has made clear that the musical campaign represents resistance against attempts to suppress the term from political debate. The party stated that remigration should not be vilified in political discussion.

The chorus of what the party characterizes as a festive anthem includes the lines: “The plane takes off, light and free, Remigration, la-la-la-la! Austria is free, all is well, such a day that simply works wonders! And the sun shines and the sky laughs, Airbert One, Airbert One takes off today. Remigration, bye-bye-bye-bye, Austria is free! Airbert One, Airbert One, hip-hip-hooray!”

The “Airbert One” branding plays on party leader Herbert Kickl’s first name, framing deportation enforcement as a national renewal project.

With information from Junge Freiheit

Austria’s Freedom Party released a campaign video promoting remigration policy, intensifying political conflict over immigration terminology that establishment parties seek to ban from parliamentary debate.

[122
4459,571,4194,6542,264,6543,3993
134
post-6258","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-asylum-policy","tag-austria","tag-fpoe","tag-herbert-kickl","tag-immigration-enforcement","tag-ovp","tag-remigration","nfg_topic-europe
["GET
