State Department officials announced the enforcement actions Wednesday through a series of posts on X, detailing operations across Africa and Europe that have shut down sophisticated schemes designed to circumvent visa regulations.<\/p>\n
In West Africa, authorities dismantled what officials described as a sophisticated birth tourism network involving more than 100 foreign nationals who relied on fraudulent documents and visa fixers to secure entry to the United States with the sole aim of obtaining citizenship for their newborns.<\/p>\n
North African operations yielded similar results, with the agency revoking over 100 visas issued to birth tourists who traveled to America primarily to deliver children who would automatically gain citizenship.<\/p>\n
European enforcement efforts proved even more extensive. A single American embassy on the continent has identified more than 400 suspected birth tourism cases since 2024 alone. The investigation led to at least six companies that specialize in coaching European clients on securing temporary United States visas while concealing their true travel purpose.<\/p>\n
We shut it down, revoked their visas, and permanently banned several fraudsters from traveling to the United States ever again<\/em>, officials stated.<\/p>\n
