Turkey is escalating tensions with Israel because:

A. It is trying to exploit the insecurity of two wars with threats against Israel using an anti-Western rhetoric even against the U.S., knowing that Israel is engaged in conflict on two fronts, with Iran and Hezbollah

B. It is concerned that after the apparent elimination of Hezbollah by Israel, Israel’s dominance is extending into neighboring states and represents a major loss of power for Iran

C. It is trying to expand its neo-Ottoman empire plans even though it was the first to recognize Israel in 1949

D. It views Israel as a competitor in the Middle East, which, due to its major operational upgrade in the region, does not allow Turkey expansionist intentions within Syria

E. It is trying to assume a leadership initiative that will rally the Muslims of the Middle East, but Turkey is not an Arab state and will never succeed

F. It is attempting through Flotilla operations to influence international public opinion against Israel and to internationally defame Israel on the Gaza Strip issue

G. It realizes the definitive cancellation of acquiring F-35 fighter aircraft primarily due to blocking by Israel and secondarily by Greece, which is continuously improving its relations with the U.S.

H. It will face Israel in the future in Somaliland when Israel attempts to establish a military base to control the straits to the Red Sea (Bab el-Mandeb) and the Gulf of Aden

I. It is trying to use strong rhetoric around Jerusalem because it attracts significant international attention mainly from sympathizers and ideological supporters of Hamas

J. It recognizes Israel’s military superiority at all levels with 300 fighter aircraft of 4.5 and 5th generation versus Turkey’s 230 outdated 3rd and 4th generation aircraft (plus nuclear deterrence)

2. With this continuous strategy of constant attack against Israel, Turkey is exposing itself through its well-known friendly relations with Hamas-Hezbollah and its pro-Iranian stance in the U.S.-Iran war.

3. Turkey’s bases in the Occupied Territories with UAVs, radar, long-range anti-aircraft weapon systems or a future naval base in Trikomo worry Israel, which considers them all a threat at a distance of only 250 kilometers.

4. It is estimated that after the end of the Israel-Iran-Hezbollah war, confrontation through isolated hot incidents in areas outside Turkey cannot be ruled out due to NATO’s Article 5, either near Syria or in Israel’s international aerial-maritime operational area

nfg-origin:gr

Turkey’s Interior Minister threatens to seize Jerusalem as Ankara escalates anti-Israel rhetoric amid regional power shifts, neo-Ottoman ambitions, and frustration over blocked F-35 purchases.

[87
279,6090,2513,4903,926,195,95
134
post-5698","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-opinion","tag-israel","tag-jerusalem","tag-middle-east-tensions","tag-neo-ottoman","tag-recep-tayyip-erdogan","tag-syria","tag-turkey","nfg_topic-europe
["GET
