Mullin characterized Tren de Aragua as among the most brutal criminal organizations globally, stating the gang engages in rape, maiming, and murder as routine activities.<\/p>\n<p>The immigration histories of the four defendants reveal systemic failures in border enforcement. Martinez illegally crossed into Texas in 2023 and received a final deportation order from a federal immigration judge on September 5, 2024. The three others\u2014Castro, Morillo-Gomez, and Ibarra-Mujica\u2014all crossed the southern border and were subsequently released into the interior of the United States under the catch-and-release protocols that characterized Biden-era immigration policy, as <em>Breitbart News<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Castro received his final deportation order in November 2024, while Ibarra-Mujica was ordered deported in June 2024. Despite these orders, all four remained in the country and allegedly participated in the deadly Bronx shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Attorney General <strong>Todd Blanche<\/strong> addressed the case directly, drawing on his experience as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who prosecuted gang violence in the Bronx.
