The Iranian terror state has effectively shut down normal maritime traffic in the strategic waterway since March, threatening random vessels to destabilize the global economy.

Baqeri’s assertions directly contradict the position of American negotiators. President Trump and senior administration officials have consistently insisted that Washington will not accept any peace agreement that fails to include long-term restrictions on Iranian nuclear development and the seizure and destruction of enriched uranium.

The negotiations follow Operation Epic Fury, launched by President Trump in February to severely curtail Iran’s military capabilities and eliminate top jihadist commanders in the terror state. The operation eliminated so-called “supreme leader” Ali Khamenei on its opening day and has since killed dozens of senior regime figures. Trump agreed to an indefinite ceasefire in April, and negotiators from both nations have been working toward a comprehensive peace agreement with assistance from mediators in Pakistan and Qatar.

Speaking at the First International Security Forum in Moscow, Russia, Baqeri insisted that enriched uranium was not on the agenda of the talks at all. He acknowledged slow progress on some issues but cautioned that partial agreements meant little without full consensus.

As Breitbart News reports, Baqeri told attendees that until all issues were resolved, his government considered that nothing had been agreed upon.

The comments from Baqeri followed claims from Iranian state television that a draft peace agreement exists to address maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. These reports suggested no discussion of Iran’s illicit nuclear program. Iranian state media claimed the alleged deal would restore normal shipping levels within a month and that Trump had agreed to dramatically reduce American military presence in the Middle East. The United States would also supposedly end its blockade of Iranian vessels, imposed in response to Iran’s own threats against international shipping.

The White House swiftly denied these claims on Wednesday. Its rapid response social media account declared that the Iranian state media report was false and that the purported memorandum of understanding was a complete fabrication, warning against trusting Iranian state propaganda.

President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have made clear repeatedly that they will not sign any peace agreement that ignores Iran’s illegal nuclear development, particularly its uranium enrichment at levels incompatible with civilian use. As recently as Monday, Trump indicated on Truth Social that negotiations were approaching an agreement to end Iranian possession of enriched uranium.

The President wrote that enriched uranium would either be immediately transferred to the United States for destruction or destroyed in place in coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, with international atomic energy authorities serving as witnesses to the process.

Trump also described the talks as progressing in an orderly and constructive manner this week, with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi participating. Reports from Iran suggested the negotiating team would push Qatar to unfreeze Iranian funds locked in the country due to anti-terrorism sanctions.

Tehran’s broader negotiating strategy demands that all frozen assets worldwide be released as part of any comprehensive agreement, according to independent outlet Iran International.

Iran dispatched several high-profile officials to Doha, Qatar, this week for the peace negotiations.

Some observers have suggested the talks could face complications after the United States military announced new airstrikes against Iran this week, targeting vessels capable of laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz and missile launching facilities.

With information from Breitbart News

A senior Iranian official contradicted the White House by claiming peace talks with the U.S. are not addressing Tehran’s uranium stockpile despite American insistence on nuclear restrictions.

[122
3474,196,2869,96,2511,280,209
135
post-3414","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-ali-baqeri","tag-donald-trump","tag-enriched-uranium","tag-iran","tag-nuclear-negotiations","tag-strait-of-hormuz","tag-united-states","nfg_topic-world
["GET
