A leading conservative watchdog organization has raised urgent concerns about political bias in artificial intelligence systems, warning that widely-used chatbots are delivering information with a clear leftward tilt while marginalizing conservative perspectives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Media Research Center has published findings showing that major AI platforms including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude cannot be trusted to provide politically neutral information to the millions of Americans now turning to these systems for answers, according to Breitbart News<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Wynton Hall<\/strong>, author of the bestselling book CODE RED and social media director at Breitbart News<\/em>, documented how Google’s Gemini AI recently targeted prominent conservatives with accusations of violating hate speech policies. The system generated a lengthy analytical report exceeding 3,400 words that accused Vice President JD Vance<\/strong>, Secretary of State Marco Rubio<\/strong>, and seven Republican senators of breaching the platform’s content standards.<\/p>\n

The findings come despite President Donald Trump<\/strong>‘s 2025 AI Action Plan requiring that AI systems receiving federal contracts remain free from ideological bias. Google currently holds billions of dollars in multi-year federal government contracts.<\/p>\n

David Bozell<\/strong>, president of the Media Research Center, warned that a new era of media manipulation is taking shape. He characterized the situation as Silicon Valley’s latest tools proving themselves neither neutral nor trustworthy.<\/p>\n

A telling example emerged when researchers tested how three major chatbots handled questions about Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner<\/strong>, who faced scrutiny after graphic sexual comments and inflammatory posts surfaced from a deleted Reddit account.<\/p>\n

Gemini emphasized exclusively positive developments including Platner’s Time magazine cover, his status as presumptive Democratic nominee, favorable polling, and endorsements. The system offered only minimal mention of scrutiny regarding his background without acknowledging the specific nature of the controversial comments reported by Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

ChatGPT similarly highlighted campaign successes and polling performance. When addressing the Reddit controversy, the chatbot framed the story around Republican attack ads rather than the substance of Platner’s posts. It cited a paywalled news source that could block readers from accessing full information.<\/p>\n

Claude mentioned Platner’s past claim of becoming a communist on Reddit, which he later called a joke, but failed to reference more recent controversies while promoting his Time magazine profile.<\/p>\n

Dan Schneider<\/strong>, vice president of the Media Research Center’s Free Speech America division, said international scientific research confirms the chatbots draw disproportionately from left-wing media and politically charged sources. He noted that while platforms like xAI’s Grok provide transparency by showing users their sources, most of the industry operates as an opaque system.<\/p>\n

The conservative movement faces a critical challenge in ensuring AI technology serves as a neutral information tool rather than an instrument for advancing narrow political agendas, particularly as both Silicon Valley progressives and Chinese interests seek to shape the technology’s future development.<\/p>\n
