Tensions have arisen in Symi in recent days after two foreign workers were arrested following numerous complaints of seduction and indecent acts against minors.<\/strong> The two men are alleged to have approached children and teenagers in areas where they gathered, offering money.<\/p>\n

According to testimonies, one of the incidents occurred in the early hours of May 1, 2026, around two o’clock after midnight, at the waterfront of Symi.<\/p>\n

Four minors were subjected to indecent gestures and acts by a 27-year-old Egyptian. The children managed to escape terrified and sought refuge in a relative\u2019s shop. Reports indicate that a similar incident had occurred earlier that same week.<\/p>\n

The two Egyptians worked for a well-known businessman on the island. Residents reported that the authorities initially struggled to take action, and after the arrest and transfer of the two men to the Police Department, dozens of enraged people gathered outside to protest. The perpetrators were released, with their trial postponed until May 2027.<\/p>\n
