This statement came to light as a way to comment on the state of global politics, using the recent abduction\u2014arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicol\u00e1s Maduro by American forces as a model.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Junge Freiheit<\/em>, <strong>Medvedev<\/strong> emphasized that the current geopolitical tensions constitute a <strong>growing risk for heads of state<\/strong>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The prospect of such an act, although extreme, reveals the increase in tensions prevailing on the international stage<\/strong><\/span>. The former Russian leader referred to the <strong>Cold War-like atmosphere<\/strong> and the insecurity experienced by politicians, commenting on the risky nature of politics today.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>&#8220;US Intervention in Venezuela Strips Washington of the Right to Accuse Moscow&#8221;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The vice chairman of Russia\u2019s Security Council describes the actions against <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/strong> as aggressive and illegal. The arrest of the Venezuelan president by American forces constitutes a blatant violation of international law, Dmitry Medvedev points out, stating clearly:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The United States no longer has the moral authority to criticize Russia&#8217;s actions anywhere.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Medvedev recalled that <strong>Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/strong> has repeatedly accused the US government of targeting his country\u2019s <strong>oil reserves<\/strong>. Yet, <strong>Donald Trump does not hide this fact<\/strong>, the Russian official stressed.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, he described the American moves as <strong>pure aggression<\/strong>. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that <strong>Trump consistently defends his country\u2019s interests<\/strong>\u2014both politically, seeing Latin America as his sphere of influence, and economically, by claiming natural resources.<\/p>\n<p>Dmitry Medvedev also addressed European countries, which questioned Maduro\u2019s legitimacy, accusing them of classic hypocrisy. <strong>These doubts do not hold up<\/strong>, he said.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate reference, he advised <strong>Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong> not to be complacent. <strong>His presidential powers have long since expired<\/strong>, and his removal could come soon.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the United Nations, the former Russian president stated it lacks effective mechanisms to deal with such situations. <strong>The world truly needs instruments within the framework of international law to ensure security for billions of people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He concluded that <strong>no country disliked by the United States can feel safe anymore<\/strong>. Medvedev cited Denmark and Greenland as examples.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The arrest of Maduro will intensify Latin America\u2019s hatred towards the United States.
