One protester had drawn a knife on campaign personnel, prompting staff to avoid contacting law enforcement or requesting a security detail from the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

Video footage captured the tense standoff, showing multiple individuals scuffling as demonstrators surrounded Steyer’s<\/strong> SUV, with one protester demanding his position on reparations\u2014a policy Steyer<\/strong> championed during his unsuccessful 2020 presidential campaign.
