They are going because the situation has reached a dead end. They are going to demand the right to cultivate, produce, and earn a living from their work. As they point out, they are being hit from all sides. In Imathia, farmers face enormous production costs, humiliating prices, losses, diseases, payment delays, and exclusion from subsidies.<\/p>\n<p>Stone fruit crops suffer from fruit deformation, dry and blind branches, and other problems that require immediate scientific investigation, substantive measures, and full compensation for lost income. Damage from the pre-flowering frost of 2025, as well as from the heavy rainfall of 2024, remain open wounds. They demand 100% compensation for actual damage, without exclusions and caps.<\/p>\n<p>The situation with agricultural subsidies has become unacceptable. Delays, pending payments, problems from OPEKEPE&#8217;s transition to AADE, monitoring, cuts, freezes, and exclusions leave farmers and livestock breeders without the money they are entitled to. At the same time, revelations about the OPEKEPE scandal have caused outrage. The money stolen from agricultural subsidies must be returned to the rightful beneficiaries. The stolen funds must be given back.<\/p>\n<p>Those involved must be held accountable and every mechanism that deprives struggling farmers of the subsidies they are entitled to must be stopped. Struggling farmers will not pay for the damage of a system they did not create.
