The straightforward comments ignited fierce reactions from activists on both sides of the issue.<\/p>\n<p>The controversy escalated dramatically when two young female fans supporting Cunningham at a Seattle game were allegedly verbally attacked by Storm co-owner <strong>Celeste Keaton<\/strong>, who reportedly called them &#8220;f\u2013king insane&#8221; as they sat courtside wearing XX-XY Athletics apparel and holding signs backing the Fever player. One of the fans was left in tears following the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The WNBA subsequently suspended Keaton for five home games and imposed an undisclosed financial penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of Friday&#8217;s Portland matchup, activist <strong>Amy Sousa<\/strong> organized a rally supporting Cunningham, following a similar event she had coordinated before the Seattle game.
