According to reports, her decision is <strong>directly related to the agreement<\/strong> recently signed by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This agreement allows immigration authorities access to tax records to identify illegal immigrants.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The decision was made despite objections from IRS lawyers that the regulation <strong>may violate<\/strong> federal privacy laws. Sources report that <strong>Krause had already been marginalized<\/strong> by Treasury Department officials in recent weeks ahead of the promotion of this particular agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Her predecessor, Doug O\u2019Donnell, had resigned in February after refusing to sign a similar agreement.
