In the past 24 hours alone, the Coast Guard located and rescued a total of 268 people in five separate incidents, the majority of whom arrived by inflatable boats on the southern shores of Heraklion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last night and in the early hours, a patrol vessel spotted three separate inflatable boats off the southeast coast of Kalo Livadi, in the municipality of Faistos. A total of 142 people were on board the boats. The authorities immediately transferred them to a temporary accommodation facility in Heraklion.<\/p>\n<p>A few hours later, another 83 migrants who had already disembarked in Tsoutsouras were located. Shortly thereafter, another 43 were found right at Kalo Livadi.
