Foreign Smuggler Arrested in Evros with Seven Migrants Cramped in Car

A foreign smuggler was arrested in a rural Evros area while illegally transporting seven migrants; the suspect faces prosecution, with his car and phone seized during the border police operation.

The Border Guard Department of Orestiada police located the suspect during checks as he was driving a private car in which the “refugees” were being unlawfully transported.

The operation resulted in the smuggler’s arrest, and he now faces justice. The car and a mobile phone found in his possession were also confiscated.

The detainee is set to be brought before the Orestiada Prosecutor of First Instance, while a preliminary investigation into the case is being conducted by the local border guard department.
