Turkish Man Arrested in Thessaloniki After Escape Attempt Sought by INTERPOL
A 32-year-old Turkish man was arrested in Thessaloniki after evading police; authorities revealed an existing Interpol red notice for serious offenses under Turkey’s criminal code.
Arrest of a 32-year-old Turkish man in Thessaloniki by officers of the Immediate Action Directorate of Thessaloniki, who located him yesterday afternoon (11-04-2026) in the Harilaou area. The suspect attempted to evade police control.
During his transfer to the Harilaou – Analipseos Police Department, it was confirmed that authorities had already filed charges against him for disobedience and violation of the legislation concerning foreigners.
Additionally, officers from the Department for the Investigation and Resolution of Crimes discovered that there was an outstanding Red Notice from Interpol Turkey against him for various offenses related to the Turkish Penal Code.
The arrested individual will be transferred to the competent judicial authority for further examination of his case.
