The livestock farmers responded immediately

Herders began finding their animals with bound legs and obvious signs of sexual violence. This happened multiple times, prompting them to install motion-sensor cameras.

The Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) of the French National Police quickly intervened and arrested the 19-year-old Afghan immigrant last week.

Increase in incidents since early 2026

The first complaints reached the police early this year. However, the attacks multiplied in February and March.

The newspaper Le Figaro reports that in many cases, female animals were found tied up with bloody genitals. Ouest-France adds that a lamb attacked in February was found in critical condition.

The cameras provided the evidence needed

The footage from the cameras was quite clear. Police were able to identify the perpetrator and arrest him without delay.

What awaits the suspect in court

The Afghan immigrant appeared before the court this week. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison for animal abuse.
